Bonding
Bonding
History

Bonding is an activity the player can perform on a dragon with a mood. The player can purchase the tools needed for bonding from the General Store.

Mechanics[]

The player can only bond with their dragon if it is in a mood, this however excludes the Hungry and Hurt moods. The dragon must also be equipped. If the dragon is a Baby, it will need to be dropped if it is being carried before it can be bonded with.

Each mood has a unique bonding activity and will reward ~50 EXP to the dragon when it is successfully completed. The dragon's personality will also return once the dragon has been bonded with, and it will receive either a 20-minute EXP boost or growing boost. If the player opens a menu or moves too far away from the dragon, the bonding activity will be canceled.

Bonding[]

There are currently five bonding activities.

The player can cancel out of the activity by clicking "Cancel" at any time, however this will reset any progress made on the dragon's bonding activity.

The Bored mood is able to be resolved when the player pets their dragon.

“Move your hand over your dragon to pet it”

In order for the player to pet their dragon, they must drag their cursor or finger over the dragon repeatedly until the bond bar is filled up.

The Dirty mood is able to be resolved if the player washes their dragon.

In order for the player to wash their dragon, they must first use the Soap bar over their dragon until the bar is filled up. Next, they must use the Showerhead on their dragon to wash out the soap. Finally, the player must dry their dragon with the Washing Cloth.

The Jealous mood is able to be resolved if the player brushes their dragon.

In order for the player to brush their dragon, they must equip the Brush and brush it until the bond bar is filled. Once filled, the dragon will be relieved of the Jealous mood.

The Sleepy mood is able to be resolved if the player gives their dragon a nap.

“Drag the teddy bear to your dragon's mouth”

In order for the player to let their dragon sleep, they must first give it the Teddy Bear. After doing this, the dragon will close its eyes and emit "Z" particles. The player will also need to pet it five times.

“Pet your dragon to sooth it”

After being pet, the player will need to prod their dragon by tapping on its head. Once done, the dragon will emit heart particles.

“Prod your dragon on the head to wake it up”

The Vicious mood is able to be resolved if the player plays music for their dragon.

“Turn the handle of the music box to play music”

In order for the player to play music for their dragon, they must wind-up the Music Box until its respective bar is filled. Once filled, the dragon will be relieved of the Vicious mood and will emit heart particles.

Trivia[]

  • Bonding was first introduced on March 27th, 2020.[1]
  • The drying particles used in step 3 of the original bonding activity were the breath particles used for the old Air element.
  • Rarely, when a player bonded with a dragon for the first time, the player would always gain 20 bond points every time they bonded with that dragon. The only known way to fix this bug was to use a Personality Potion on the dragon.

Bond bar extension.

  • During the presence of the bond bar, the maximum number of points achievable was 200. However, the bar appeared to look like it capped out at 120 bond points. If the player continued bonding with their dragon, the red bond bar would extend behind the Bond button. It is not known if the bond bar was intended to act this way or not.
