Bosses, originally known as Boss Mobs, are special kinds of enemies only able to be fought in boss rooms.
Players can team up with up to three others or take on bosses solo. Bosses have three distinct stages, and each have different rewards. There is a unique boss belonging to each individual world excluding the Undercity.
Battling[]
In order to fight a boss, the player must have at least one non-fainted dragon above the age of Juvenile. Players have five minutes to fight a boss and can fight one again immediately after defeating it. The player can only use one dragon when fighting and has a total of three lives.
Queues[]
Queue creation is necessary to fight a boss. Users can initiate battles in groups of up to four, although queue size does not provide any benefits besides slightly decreasing the amount of time it takes to kill the given enemy. If the player hosts their own queue, they can pick between four options when creating it:
- Everyone, which allows any player to join.
- Friends, which only allows the player's friend(s) to join.
- Party, which only allows the player's party member(s) to join.
- No-One, which only allows the player to join.
Stages[]

Boss health bar
Each boss has a total of three stages as marked by their health bars.
During the first stage, the boss is only able to attack the player by biting and ramming them. It will bite players two times and ram them every third time.
During the second stage, the boss is unable to be hit and surrounds itself with a shield. Four waves of four mobs each will start dispersing from the four corners of the arena. The shield will be dropped after all of the mobs are killed or if the player takes a significantly long time. The mobs do not drop EXP or drop any items, and do not count toward Guild Tasks or missions.

Boss fail prompt
During the third stage, the boss will target the player(s) again and will be able to stun player(s) for five seconds. If a player is stunned, they will not be able to move until the stun effect has worn off. During the stun effect, the player can still roar and activate their flair. If the player and/or their party lose all of their lives, they will fail the boss fight and receive no rewards.
Rewards[]

Boss rewards example
If the player and their party are successful in defeating a boss, each player will be given 700 to 1000 Coins and their dragon will be given
1,000 EXP or 1,200 EXP based on how much damage they have dealt and how much they contributed. Each player will also be given a choice of choosing between three chests: Emerald, Sapphire, or Ruby. Each has a chance of a item or food. Rewards can be seen on a sign next to the bossfight portal. If a player did not contribute enough damage, they will not be able to pick a chest reward.
If the player wishes to open another chest, they can do so by purchasing another for 45 Robux.
The chest picked by the player does not determine what kind of reward they will receive.

Trivia[]
- Bosses were first introduced on January 24th, 2020.
- The first boss to be added was the Ice Demon.
- Bosses were originally giant and much stronger versions of mobs. They would spawn on a special platform every 20 minutes. In the case of the Toxic Boss that invaded other worlds, it would spawn every 3 minutes on a green platform and had special Toxic mob minion
- The most recent boss to be added is the desert boss, being added on June 7th, 2024.
Pro Tips[]
- During the first phase of the fight, it is sometimes possible to completely evade attack by flying to the top and center of the boss room while using breath attacks to damage the boss without getting damaged. Usually, however, the best course of action is to simply attack the boss as much as possible to advance the battle quickly and avoid running down the timer. Additionally, it's best to immediately stop attacking as soon as the boss runs back to the center of its arena to trigger the second phase, as the boss is invulnerable even before it gets its shield up and the mobs do not spawn immediately; this will buy the player some time for their bite and breath attacks to recharge.
- During the second phase of the fight, the boss minions' attack range is extended to the entire room; it's impossible to hide from them and heal. In this stage, the mobs should be taken head-on and killed as soon as they spawn from their clouds.
- The boss' stun attack during the third phase has a large range, but it does not cover the entire arena. Players who are behind the boss can avoid being stunned. If multiple players are present, the one that the boss is currently targeting should run to the edge of the arena and let the boss stun them, allowing the other players to run to the opposite end to avoid a stun and continue attacking the boss so the fight can end as quickly as possible.
- All bosses provide the same amount of experience for dragons and are easily the fastest way to get dragons to level 20. If one is simply looking to level up a dragon, the Origins boss is the fastest. If valuable rewards are desired, the Prehistoric or Wasteland boss should be fought, although at least one other player is usually required to beat them.
- Fighting with other players makes boss fights go much quicker and makes them much easier. Additionally, some weekly missions require multiple players to fight a boss together.
- If several players are needed for a boss fight, the best method of recruiting them is to ask in chat if anyone is willing to fight the boss, and inform players of how many slots are open in the queue. Roaring near the boss arena is another way of signaling players to join a boss queue, and useful for signaling to console players, who cannot see chat.
- Bosses do not take damage in the same way regular mobs do, instead taking a set amount scaling directly with the dragon's level, usually 90 or 80 damage for a level 20 dragon. This means that the dragon's attacking stats do not actually matter when fighting a boss, so long as its level is high enough. Dragons with high health stats, large breath capacity and short breath recharge times are preferable. Bite attacks should only be used when killing minions during the second stage, as the boss itself takes extremely low damage from them relative to their cooldown time. Due to their large size making them able to reach multiple mob spawning clouds with their breath attacks, good breath capacity and high health stats, Mother Dragons and Chronocus are often used for bosses.
