Breeding is a feature that allows the player to breed any two dragons together to get one offspring.
Mechanics[]
From the My Dragons menu, the player can choose any dragon and click the "Breed" button. The Breed button will be replaced with the "Bond" button when a dragon can be bonded with, although the dragon can still be used to breed if able to.
Clicking the Breed button will cause a menu to open up and the player will be able to select another dragon or change the dragon they originally selected. The two dragons selected must be compatible with one another (see Rules & Requirements for more details). If all of these conditions are met, the player will be able to select the "Breed" button.
Once bred, one baby dragon will be created that takes on its parent's traits and it and its parents will enter a breeding cooldown.
Rules & Requirements[]
Breeding requires two compatible dragons not on breeding cooldown aged Adult or older (age 66+), one male and the other female, and at least one available Lair slot. Breeding two dragons together will also warrant a breeding fee. After breeding, the pair will be unable to be bred again for a duration of time.
The player must have the world the dragon originates from to breed it. For example, to breed a Zeipera, the player must have the Fantasy world unlocked.
Soul Bound[]

Non-world dragons including Daily Login, event, Guild Wars, season, and tribute dragons may only be bred with another of the same species. After being bred, the female parent of the offspring will become Soul Bound and be unable to be auctioned, bred, or traded.[1] The offspring will always be female.
When a player selects to breed a dragon able to become Soul Bound, a message will be brought up informing the player of the consequences of breeding species that can become Soul Bound.
Breeding Cooldown[]
Once a dragon is bred, it will enter a breeding cooldown. The breeding cooldown varies between dragon species. The breeding cooldown of a dragon can be instantly skipped with a Breeding Cooldown Potion.
Additionally, a dragon's breeding cooldown can be lowered or raised with either the Beautiful or Ugly genetic traits, respectively.
Trait Inheritance[]
Baby dragons created both by breeding and Co-Hatching will inherit traits depending on their parents' traits. This includes the baby's colors, materials, element, pupil, personality, mutations, and traits.
Colors[]
Each color slot on the offspring is taken from the range of colors between both of the parent's colors in that slot. See Colors for more details.
Materials[]
Each material slot on the baby dragon will always be either one of the parents' materials for that slot, chosen at random.
Element[]

Certain elements other than Fire, Water, and Grass can be obtained by breeding two specific elements together or by Elemental Potions. Breeding will have a 1/3 (33%) chance of producing a non-basic element based on what the elements of the two parents have. Otherwise, the baby dragon will inherit the element of either of its parents.
Pupil[]
The pupil on the baby dragon will be round, slit, or empty. Round is more common, while empty is less common.

Mutations[]

Breeding mutated dragons together will yield higher chances of getting a mutated dragon, compared to breeding two non-mutated dragons together. The more mutations the parents have, the more mutations the baby dragon is likely to have. Note it is impossible to get a full 5/5 mutated dragon from breeding, the highest being 4/5.

Breeding Fee[]
Breeding fees were added on February 2nd, 2024.
A breeding fee of coins will be placed when breeding any two dragons together. The breeding fee is dependent on the dragons' rarities. The dragon with the rarer rarity will always be prioritized over the more common dragon's rarity.
Dragons that are able to become Soul Bound (event, season, Guild War, tribute, and Daily Login) will have a breeding fee that is double the price of a world dragon's breeding fee.
Notice: Breeding fees written in italics are either not yet featured in any obtainable dragon(s) and/or, in the case of the Relic rarity, possibly under speculation.

- Unbreedable dragons will still show up in the breeding menu.
- The Cocovira, Rocirus, and the Saurium have the shortest breeding cooldowns.
- The Amaris and the Chronocus have the longest breeding cooldown.
- Soul Bound dragons of Legendary rarity currently have the most expensive breeding fee.
