Chests, also known as treasure chests, are special types of resource nodes. They can be harvested with a dragon's bite or elemental attack and contain multiple types of valuable loot, including coins, food, healing items, eggs, and potions. Players can use Clue Mounds to help reveal chest locations.

Chests spawn daily in all permanent worlds excluding the Undercity. The player can track how many chests they have opened in each world via the World Teleporter or the Menu.

Spawning[]

Every permanent world (except the Undercity) will have five chests that can be found by the player. The chests are most often found behind breakable walls and near the edges of their respective worlds. Occasionally, chests may also spawn in mob areas. The chests' locations will randomize daily.

Upon generation, each chest will roll for its variant, with more valuable variants being rarer. However, the spawn location does not affect the chest variant, nor does the variant affect the location.

Chests may only be opened once per day.[1] Chests are refreshed locally every day at 8:00 PM EST (7:00 PM EST when daylight saving time is not in effect). An individual world's chests will refresh when all of its World Missions have been completed and renew after 6 hours.

Variants[]

There are three different tiers of chests: bronze, silver, and gold. Higher tier chests have more valuable loot, but they have lower spawn chances.[2]

Chest Variants
Type Color Health Spawn Rate
Bronze Brown with gray frames 10 68%
Silver Blue with white frames 15 30%
Gold Red with gold frames 20 2%

Rewards[]

All chests are guaranteed to drop coins and 3-5 other items that may or may not be the same, depending on the chest type. Rarer chests drop more valuable loot.

Note that the following data is taken from a single loot drop from a chest, meaning that the player can earn more than is listed if applicable.

Locations[]

Every permanent world has five chests present each day. Furthermore, the chests have multiple spawn locations, with each world having an average of 12 different locations. The spawn locations are client-side for each player, so not every player will have the same chest locations.

In the galleries below, all destructible walls have been cleared to clarify each chest's location.

Trivia[]

  • Chests were introduced on December 1st, 2023, at 3:50 PM EST.
    • Until December 4th, 2023, five chests would be present in each world instead of four.
    • On December 31st, 2024, however, the number of chests located in each world was increased from four to five.[3]
  • Chests are the replacement for the removed magic nodes.
  • The Valentines Event 2024 was the first event to incorporate chests. The Daily Valentines Chests would count towards either of the chest daily missions and would reset alongside regular chests.
  • On April 19th, 2024, the gold chest's coin and item count drops were increased.[4]
  • Chests are required to complete certain missions.
    • There are two Daily Missions that require the player to open chests. An Expert mission requires the player to open 2-3 chests and an Amateur mission requires the player to open one.
    • There is a Weekly Mission that requires the player to open one gold chest. Unfortunately, gold chests are not guaranteed to spawn every week.
      • On average, 5-6 gold chests spawn weekly, leading to the above scenario being unlikely.
  • On April 30th, 2024, a stat was added to each applicable world for the player to view how many daily chests they found.[5]
  • On September 13th, 2024, at 9:36 PM EST, the coins earned from chests were increased.[6]
  • During the Valentines Event 2025, all chests took on a Valentines look and could be distinguished by the number and color of hearts they had.
