Cohatching

The icon for Co-Hatch

(Normal Breeding page)

Co-Hatch is a function that was added in 2019 shortly after the addition of trading due to popular demand. Its purpose is to let two people breed their dragons with each other.

How to Co-Hatch[]

Co-Hatch request

Notice received for a Co-Hatching request

Step One: A player can Co-Hatch with another user either by selecting their name under the social list (found by clicking the Social Button along the Menu) or by interacting with the user directly and then choosing the option Co-Hatch. The user who receives the Co-Hatch request will then receive a notice saying "(Player's username) wants to Co-Hatch with you." along with the options to Accept or Decline.

Step Two: If the Co-Hatch request is accepted both players will see the Co-Hatching menu. The menu will consist of two spaces, which will remain empty until a dragon is selected, and two scrollers found underneath; the left scroller displays the user's male dragons, whilst the right scroller lists the females. Dragons that are unable to breed will be grayed out. When one user selects a dragon, the other user must select the other gender. If the dragon is a world dragon, any other world dragon species may be selected; the outcome of the baby will be 50% of one species and 50% the other. If the dragon chosen is not a world dragon, it may only breed with its same species. The outcome of the baby will 100% be the same species and gender of the parent, whilst the parent becomes Soul Bound.

A Soul Bound dragon will not be able to breed again, or be traded/sold away.

Step Three: Once both users have chosen their dragons and are happy with the choices they can select "Accept". Once both players have accepted they will each receive a Co Hatch Egg in their inventory.

Co Hatch Egg[]

The Co Hatch Egg is colored red on one half, and blue on the other. No matter what species the parents of the Co-Hatch were, the egg will always have a hatch time of 5 minutes.

The species, colors, personality and traits of the baby is determined by the dragons that were used in the Co-Hatch:

  • If both selected dragons were the same species, then the baby will be exactly that same species. If each parent was a different species, then the baby has a 50/50 chance of being either of those species. The species can be checked in the Egg section of the Inventory, after finding the Co-Hatch Egg and hovering over it.
  • The baby's colors are determined by the parent's colors. Its primary, secondary, and tertiary colors will each be a random color found between the parent's colors on the game's color chart. If both parents hold the exact same colors in either their primary, secondary or tertiary slots, then the baby will also keep that color. More information on this can be found on the Color Information page.
  • The personality of the baby is also decided by the parent's personality. There is a 70% chance it will obtain one of the same personalities as the parents, a 15% chance of obtaining a combined personality, a 10% chance of obtaining a random personality from the same range, or a 5% chance of obtaining a personality from the same category below. More information about personalities can be found on the Personalities page.
  • Breeding two dragons of the same traits may result in the baby having a higher tier of trait.
