What is a Color Theme?
Color Themes are player-made color schemes for dragons which gain enough popularity to be easily recognizable within the community, and, consequently, make their way onto this page. Occasionally, they will also have specific materials and/or elements that are essential to the theme.
This page uses information from the Dragon Adventures Wiki's Theme Sheet, the Astrilare Archive. Click here to access the Light Mode version of the sheet or here for Dark Mode.
Universal Requirements
Regardless of the applicable category, all themes must meet the following minimum requirements to be shown on this page and the Astrilare Archive:
- Must be age appropriate for all Dragon Adventures audiences.
- Cannot have hard-to-describe or hard-to-meet restrictions.
- Cannot be a 3/3 pure of any color.
- Cannot use the word "official" to describe the theme.
- Already-existing themes cannot be ripped-off or stolen.
- Theme creators must behave appropriately and not cause issues within the community.

Submitting Images
Submitting images to this page is not submitting a new theme to this page, adding themes is managed by the Astrilare volunteer team based on theme mentions and cannot just be submitted to be added. In order to submit images for themes already on this page, reply to this comment thread or ping @Wheelioss in the comments section with the image you'd like to submit, else your image may be missed.
The criteria are as follows:
- The images must have good, neutral lighting (preferably daytime). You need to be able to see each color of the theme as distinctly as possible.
- Landscape (horizontal) images are REQUIRED. Anything along the lines of 4:3, 16:9, etc. falls within this category. Any image that is oriented as portrait (vertical) and cannot be cropped to landscape will be DECLINED.
- The position of the dragon has a big impact on the ratio of the image. Taking the images at side or 3/4 angles tends to fit the best.
- Try to minimize the amount of empty space in the image so the colors can be seen fairly clearly at smaller sizes.
- Images with proportions that emphasize empty space should be avoided.
- In contrast to the previous point, Raspberry Milkshake and the Uprising theme, Caramel Latte, are great examples of using space well.
- Cosmetics such as auras, flairs, or accessories that distract from the theme are discouraged and more likely to be declined.
- The backgrounds should either be transparent or at least have minimal, flat colors that contrast the theme. As an example, for any non-blue themes, you could head over to a cliff overlooking the sky and take a photo there.
- Watermarks are allowed, as long as they are semi-transparent and don't draw attention away from the theme colors. If you remove the background yourself, however, you can place the watermark wherever you wish at whatever opacity, as long as it doesn't conflict with the issues mentioned above.
Any user can submit images for themes that currently do not have an image present. If you'd like to replace an existing image, see the section below.
Replacing Images
Images that need replacing tend to be older images that don't quite represent the themes they're for as well as they could. To replace one, simply go through the same process that you'd do to submit a new one as stated in the section above.

Verified theme creators are allowed to request the replacement or removal of images on their own themes if they feel like they are not suitable references.
