The Environment system is a group of atmospheric elements in Dragon Adventures. Each world features a day and night cycle, which transitions gradually over time. In addition, certain worlds have distinct weather cycles. These elements have no impact on hatch rates, mobs, or other core gameplay mechanics and are purely for immersion.

Day/Night Mechanics[]

The day/night cycle is divided into four phases: Dawn, Day, Dusk, and Night. Each phase lasts 5 minutes and is indicated by a banner that appears on the top of the screen for a few seconds. Once the banner has appeared, the skybox will begin to change, either shifting from light to dark or dark to light. At night, a cricket sound effect will begin to play.

Weather[]

There are two weather effects in Volcano.

Eruption[]

Eruption

An Eruption

After a certain unknown amount of time has passed, an Eruption will start. Eruptions last a short duration of time and darken the world's sky temporarily while meteors hurdle out of the largest, central volcano.

Meteors about to make impact with the ground will display red warning areas for players to avoid.

Firenado[]

Firenado

A firenado

The firenado is a weather effect limited to the flat magma rock plains in Environment. Players that get sucked up by it will receive 10 seconds of burn damage that will deal 1.5% of damage to the dragon's health and be tossed around, before finally being flung a long distance. Unlike the sandnado, the firenado will not actively target players and will spawn on its own.

There are two weather effects in Desert.

Sandstorm[]

Every now and then, a global sandstorm weather effect takes place which lasts for around 4 minutes. When announced, sandstorms cover the world in a sandy haze as well as adding flecks of sand around the edges of the player's screen, significantly hindering vision.

Sandnado[]

Sandnado

In addition to impeding players' vision, sandstorms bring about sandnadoes. Sandnadoes are mainly limited to one area, however they are capable of moving from one place to another by disintegrating and reforming in another spot in the world. Sandnadoes can target a player and slowly approach them. If a player gets too close to a sandnado, the player and their dragons, if equipped, get swept up and flung a considerable distance away.
