Farm
History

The Farm is a localized plot of land within Origins each player can grow crops on to obtain food.

It can be found behind and between the World Teleporter and the base portals. Players could originally grow farmable plants at their base, however on January 12th, 2023, all farmable plants were moved to the farm plot.

Features[]

FarmShop

The Farm Shop

The main farm plot is made up of 100 tiles and is broken up into 4 fertilizer regions. Each plant takes up a single tile, and an additional 125 tiles are made available if the player owns the Advanced Building gamepass, resulting in a total of 225 tiles. Each 50-tile plot is made up of two fertilizer regions and the 25-tile plot is made of one fertilizer region. The regular growth time for crops is marked at 100% fertility level, and it may decrease if higher or increase if lower than this value.

Nearby the farm is the Farm Shop, a small store where players can buy seeds and the Watering Can from. The player can sell any grown food item at the General Store or the Farm Merchant for an increased sell price.

Controls[]

When a player is at the farm, four icons will be displayed at the top of their screen. The icons from left to right are "Help", "Fertilizer", "Edit Farm", and "Claim All". The rightmost option will only be available to users with the VIP gamepass.

Farming Help Interface

Help interface

The Help menu will bring an interface up detailing how to fertilize the farm, how Bone Meal is obtained, and what Compost Bins do.

In the Edit Farm menu, the player can craft plants with seeds and then plant them into any unoccupied farm tile. If a plant is clicked on, it can be moved or destroyed. Destroying a plant will completely remove it from the player's inventory and will not refund anything.

The Fertilizer menu will hide all of the player's plants and will allow the player to use any fertilizer item or Bone Meal on any of the fertilizer regions. The fertility level of the region will also be displayed.

Farming[]

Players can currently grow 10 different crops at their farm. Crop plants can be crafted with their respective seeds, which can be bought from the Farm Shop. A player may plant a crop with one of its respective seeds on any tile in the plot that is not obstructed by another crop.

Harvesting[]

Once a plant's timer has finished, the player may harvest it by using a dragon's elemental breath or bite attack, which provides 10-20% more food than using Claim All.[1] The player can also harvest all currently available plants if they have the VIP gamepass.

Fertilizing[]

Fertilizer Levels Example

The five "levels" of fertility. The left image's tiles are all "level one" fertility, while on the right the level increases from the left from top to bottom right.

Fertilizing a region of the farm plot requires either Bone Meal or any of the three fertilizer items, with the latter being more effective. Fertilized regions have decreased crop growth time and may be boosted up from 10%-200% for a temporary amount of time. When a region of the plot is fertilized, it will darken and gain a more vibrant highlight color.

Fertilizer Percentages
Icon Item Fertility Value
Bone Meal 5%
Crude Fertilizer 20%
Fertilizer 45%
Pristine Fertilizer 100%

There are five "levels" of fertility.

  • The first level is between 10%-49%.
  • The second level is between 50%-99%.
  • The third level is between 100%-149%.
  • The fourth level is between 150%-179%.
  • The fifth level is between 180%-200%.

Watering[]

Watering crops provides ~1% off growth time to crops up to a 5-tile radius. Note that unlike the fertilizer, the Watering Can may only be used once on a growing crop selection.

Players may also water their crops with their dragon's elemental breath, which must be a water type.[2] The elements currently known to be able to be used are Water, Ocean, Deep Sea, Storm, Snowflake, Life and Witch Brew.

Statistics[]

Crop Profit Comparison[]

Crop profit per-hour is calculated based on a single plant and by using the Farm Merchant's prices.

The coins-per-hour formula is: (1 hour ÷ Crop Growth Time) x Harvest Amount x Farm Merchant Sell Price

Crop Sell Price Sell Price (Merchant) Coins per Hour (Merchant)
Apple 1 2 21.8
Carrot 1 2 22.8
Peach 2 4 24
Banana 3 5 30
Onion 3 5 25
Watermelon 8 13 26
Pumpkin 12 18 27
Pineapple 14 23 27.6
Dragonfruit 20 49 28
Coconut 18 42 28

Notes[]

  • Although Coconut and Dragonfruit profit-per-hour is the same, it may be more advantageous to grow Coconuts due to their longer growth cycle, decreasing how often the player is required to visit the crops to harvest them.
    • If the player often encounters inventory capacity trouble, growing both types of crops to spread out the inventory space used could allow the player to stockpile more crops until the Farm Merchant arrives.

Crop Food & Shadow Points Comparison[]

Crop Hunger Value Food per Hour Shadow Point Value Shadow Points per Hour
Apple 4 43.6 1 10.9
Carrot 4 45.7 1 11.4
Peach 4 40 2 12
Banana 5 30 3 18
Onion 6 30 4 20
Watermelon 9 18 7 14
Pumpkin 9 13.5 9 13.5
Pineapple 7 8.4 12 14.4
Dragonfruit 10 5.7 23 13.1
Coconut 9 6 19 12.6

Notes[]

  • Compared to growing crops for coins, other tiers of crops may be more optimal if producing for other uses. Lower tier crops produce more food more often, while mid-tier crops are better candidates for Shadow Point sacrifices.
    • The #-per-hour calculations assume the player harvests the crop as soon as it is ready to be harvested. If the player goes a long time without harvesting a crop it will skew the actual rates.
  • The #-per-hour formulas are the same as calculating the crop's money-per-hour as shown above, with the sell price being replaced by the crop's hunger restoration value or Shadow Point sacrificing value, respectively.

Trivia[]

  • If the player quickly interacts with a recently harvested crop, the option to instantly grow it for 25 Robux will show up but with no prompt. This may possibly be due to a bug.
  • On September 13th, 2024, at 9:36 PM EST, the farm was updated with new features.
  • On an unknown date, dragons became unable to water crops with water type elemental breaths. The ability was implemented again on May 9th, 2025.
