Fishing Boost

Fishing icon

Fishing is a feature that is available in all concurrent worlds and in certain event worlds. While fishing, players may reel in fish, potions, and other exclusive items through a minigame.

Players may sell their fish to the Fish Trader, who will buy fish for a premium price.

Fishing Rods[]

Each player is given a Fishing Rod upon starting Dragon Adventures, which allows them to go fishing. Different cosmetics for fishing rods may be purchased in world shops or obtained during certain events.

Every rod has the same properties regardless of the cosmetic used.

Mechanics[]

WorldFishingSign

A fishing sign

To go fishing, the player must be within a fishing zone. Fishing zones are typically found near each world's largest body of water (or other liquid) and are typically accompanied by docks, swirling whirlpool effects, and a sign displaying a Fishing Rod with a fish on its hook.

While in a fishing zone, the Cast and Reel buttons will appear near the bottom of the screen. By pressing the G key or tapping the Cast icon, a fishing line will be sent out and left to bob. After ~4-13 seconds, the Reel icon will brighten and, upon tapping the icon or left-clicking, a minigame will begin.

The minigame has two main components: a ring with a spinning catching bar, and a golden cursor rotating clockwise at the center. Left-clicking or clicking the Reel icon while the golden cursor is over the catching bar successfully reels the item closer. Clicking when the cursor is not over the catching bar reduces progress by one reel. When the progress bar at the bottom is filled completely, the hooked item will be given to the player.

The bright, central segment of the catching bar is worth double the amount of the smaller, darker segments. Furthermore, the minigame will be harder if the rarity of the hooked item is higher. As the rarity increases, the catching bar shrinks, the golden cursor spins faster, and more successful reels are required to catch the item.

The player cannot lose their caught item unless they cast their line again or open a menu.

Fishing Frenzy[]

Main article: Fishing Frenzy

The Fishing Frenzy is a week-long mini-event that occurs once a year. During a Fishing Frenzy, rare potions are made obtainable through fishing, including Mutation Potions and special material potions. During the 2023 Fishing Frenzy, there were five pre-determined loot tables that would rotate between the worlds every hour.

History[]

Grasslands FishingSign

An old fishing sign

Prior to December 1st, 2023, the player would have to play a different minigame that involved keeping the cursor in the green zone until the item was fully reeled in. If the cursor entered the red zone, the player would lose their caught item. Rarer items would be more difficult to catch.

In addition, there were different fishing rods the player could obtain, each with their own durability. Some fishing rods could catch items that "lower-tier" fishing rods could not.

List of Fishing Rods
Item Obtainment Durability Notes
Fishing Rod 1,000 Coins from Shop 50
Crystal Fishing Rod 10,000 Coins from Shop 80 Higher chance of being able to catch two of the same item
Slows the cursor's speed
Fishy Fishing Rod 3,500 Coins from Shop 50 Small chance of being able to catch two of the same item
Golden Fishing Rod Leisure Spin Wheel ? Higher chance of catching rarer items
