"'Created by Wasteland scientists, the Gyrocopter is an intermeshing blade, multi-role aircraft. The tail rotor is not necessary but does increase turning speed in the air, in addition to the powerful lifting capacity of its dual rotors. The Gyrocopter is, controversially, not a dragon. It's powered nominally through electrical batteries, though the on-board biomass converter can turn foodstuffs into additional power.
Gyrocopters are the main "mount" of the Wasteland Rangers, a group dedicated to the cleanup of Wasteland's toxic biosphere and conservation of its remaining biological species. The Rangers use it mainly for search and rescue or for lifting heavy cargo, although it does have combat capabilities. The insectoid landing gear enables it to "drive" when on the ground, as well as land in rough, uneven terrain.
Its development is a direct response to the threat of a "Logic Virus"-- a little understood but highly dangerous transmissible "disease" that overrides and corrupts the mental faculties of robotic dragons. The most well-known case of a logic virus would be found on Lunar Mine 459-BP, where a Robodon went rogue and terrorized the facility. Researchers have had little success in producing a cure. Since the Gyrocopter is not sentient and operates based on the pilot's direct input, it has been so far immune to any encountered instance of a logic virus.
It's for that reason, along with its metal construction being innately more resistant to the worst of what Wasteland has to offer, that the Rangers choose to fly Gyros in the most dangerous parts of Wasteland instead of putting their actual dragons at risk. These machines give them the confidence to continue their conservation work, protecting Dragoneers, their companions, and the native species of the world from the ever-encroaching dangers of the Wasteland."

Obtainability[]
The Gyrocopter can be obtained from the Gyrocopter Pack bundle.
The Gyrocopter Pack is currently available from May 23rd, 2025, at 4:43 PM EST, to June 19th, 2025, at 4:00 PM EST. It is planned to rotate on a yet to be determined monthly or yearly basis, as to spotlight future developer dragon bundles.[1] The bundle will cost 1,500 Robux.
When bought, the Gyrocopter will come with its species name and be age 66.

- The Gyrocopter's name is derived from ancient Greek γῦρος (gûros), meaning "circle", and the English suffix -copter. It also shares its name with the gyrocopter rotorcraft, also known as an autogyro.
- Despite sharing its name with the autogyro rotorcraft, the Gyrocopter shares many features with helicopters and is equipped with two intermeshing rotors, whereas modern autogyros typically have one rotor.
- The Gyrocopter was stated to have incorporated dragonfly design elements but was primarily based off of helicopters.[2]
- The Gyrocopter represents the developer DoubleDog_DareMe.
- Unlike all other dragons, the Gyrocopter has custom flying sounds that resemble rotorcraft blades turning. The elemental breath attacks come out from its twin nose cannons on the left and right sides of the front fuselage, which open up when in use.
- Upon its initial release, there was a bug that caused Gyrocopters to be duplicated when purchased.[3] At 5:34 PM EST, the Gyrocopter became temporarily tradelocked, with further action being taken in the near future regarding any duplicated Gyrocopters.[4]
- At 8:04 PM EST, an announcement was made declaring "All Gyrocopters (and their accessories) will be removed from inventories. Each player will be left with a maximum of 1 Gyrocopter and 1 full accessory set." This adjustment only affected Gyrocopters directly obtained through the Gyrocopter Pack, and did not affect any Gyrocopters obtained through other methods.[5] Users on the Dragon Adventures Discord server can direct message ModMail to be reimbursed with any legitimately obtained Gyrocopters or accessories they may have lost with proof of transaction for the next 24 hours.[6]
- Affected players will also be reimbursed with a Color Shuffle Potion and Mutation Potion, and at 1:18 AM EST, May 24th, reports for lost Gyrocopters were extended until May 25th, 10:00 PM EST.[7][8]
