Halloween Event 2022

Note: The Halloween Event 2022 has ended.

The Halloween Event of 2022 is an event that began October 21st, 2022, at 5 PM EST, and ended November 11th, 2022.

On October 8th, 2022, a two-week countdown and a Halloween monument with candles and a clock, as well as several scattered pumpkins, were set up around the center of Origins.

Event[]

The 2022 Halloween Event released the Paranox, the 2022 Halloween event dragon, which released alongside the Dysuva, Paukiki, Scrawei, and the Skelltor through hatching Paranormal Eggs. The Spooky Castle also opened up and new accessories and items released.

The Spooky Castle also had its own exclusive Halloween Wheel, fishing zones, mobs, and the event's currency, Webs.

Along with this, Pooki made an appearance as an NPC and the Time Races and Trick-Or-Treating mechanics were reimplemented.

Week One[]

On October 21st, 2022, Spooky Town became accessible and the Paranox released alongside Pooki and new accessories and items. The Time Race and Trick-Or-Treating mechanics were reimplemented and the Dysuva, Paukiki, Scrawei, and the Skelltor were reintroduced.

Week Two[]

On October 28th, 2022, the Vampire Potion was released and the Banshee, Hollow, and Undead presets became hatchable on the Paranox. New accessories were also added.

Week Three[]

On November 4th, 2022, a few new buildables and Pooki buildables and accessories were added. The Paranox also became hatchable with the Ectoplasm, Mime, and Wisp hatch presets.

World[]

Spooky Castle (Halloween Event 2022) — Spooky Castle

The Spooky Castle acted as the 2022 Halloween Event world. It consisted of one, main island with several smaller ones breaking off from it. Its autumn theme was shown through its orange vegetation, orange and green pine trees, and large dead trees. Several pumpkins and mushrooms were also littered around the world, and small ponds and a single river also covered the world's surface.

A giant, medieval castle-like structure rested at the center of world, with tall walls separating it from the ground. A stone bridge led the World Teleporter to the entrance of the open castle, and inside was where the event's stores were located. Houses were also present on the inside and players were able to Trick-or-Treat at them. Candelabras and pennant banners were also present. To the right of the entrance was a long, open hall which led to the Halloween Wheel and some additional buildings.

Underneath the castle were caverns, known as crypts, with Spider mobs inside. Large webs, loose stones, candelabras, and floating candles were also located inside the caves and coffins could be located on some of the walls.

It was not possible to enter the larger above-ground portion of the castle.

Badge & Title[]

If the player entered the Spooky Castle world they would be rewarded with the Web Winder title and the Halloween 2022 badge.

Accessory Store & Event Store[]

The two shops at the Spooky Castle featured Halloween-themed accessories, base buildables, potions, and other items.

Both stores could be located within the walls of the castle.

Accessory Store (Halloween Event 2022) — Accessory Store

The Acessory Store consisted of a wooden stand draped with a black and orange tapestry. Pumpkins rested at its sides and several accessories were displayed. A sign atop it read "Accessories".

It was located on the left on the inside of the castle and had a purple aura.

Event Shop (Halloween Event 2022) — Event Shop

The Event Shop had the appearance of a wooden stand draped with a black and orange tapestry, and it displayed several of the event's buildables and potions. The sign atop it displayed "Event Shop".

It was located on the right on the inside of the castle and had an orange aura.

Exclusive Features[]

Fishing[]

The Spooky Castle featured several fishing zones throughout its main island. A river and several ponds could be located around the castle, with one pond being situated within the castle's walls.

Players could fish from bodies of water much like in regular worlds. Catching items required the player to cast their fishing rod into the fishing zone, and then waiting for an item to be hooked. Once hooked, the player could reel in the item by keeping the line within the green zone.

Halloween Wheel[]

The Halloween Wheel acted as the Spooky Castle’s Spinner Wheel. It was located down the long, open hall within the castle.

It could be spun by spending 50 Webs and could be re-spun every 24 hours.

Pooki[]

Pooki acted as the tutorial instructor NPC for the Spooky Castle. Pooki was located near the World Teleporter at the beginning of the bridge that led to the castle.

Pooki was a round, plump dragon with a pumpkin-like appearance. They had four stubby legs, a short, spiked tail, a wooden stem atop their back, and a carved pumpkin head.

Upon interacting with Pooki, they would say:

“Oh, well hi there! I’m Pooki. I am your friendly pumpkin guide!”
“Welcome to Halloween Castle - the most horrifying, paranormally active castle in the known world.”
“Uhhh... oh no, I forgot what I’m supposed to say next...”
“OH! Yes, ahem...This ancient, haunted castle is filled with the most wretched terrors you will ever witness!”
“Many mysteries lie behind the castle walls...uhh...Feel free to explore these ghostly grounds, but only if you dare!”

Pooki would then give the player 25 Webs.

If Pooki was interacted with again, they would say this before repeating their previously mentioned lines:

“Oh no...don’t make me remember my lines again. Here goes nothing...”

If the player entered a fishing zone, Pooki would say:

“Many interesting and haunted items have been dropped in the ponds over the years.”
“Try using your fishing rod to see what’s down there. There’s probably some Webs in there somewhere!”

If the player entered the crypts, Pooki would say:

“These are the terrible, HORRIBLE CRYPTS!”
“Kill the spiders which nest here among the coffins to receive more Webs!”

If the player got close enough to one of the house's doors, Pooki would say:

“Each disturbingly haunted door has a puzzle for you to solve when you go Trick-or-Treating!”
“Choose the matching pictures and you will receive some Webs as a prize!”

Mobs[]

Spider (Halloween Event 2022) — Spider mob

Around the Spooky Castle were Spider mobs. These mobs would attack the player's dragon(s) if they got too close.

The Spider's damage scaled with the dragon's health, as did the dragon's attack to the Spider's health.

If the player killed a Spider mob, they would be rewarded 3 Webs.

Webs[]

Webs acted as the 2022 Halloween Event's currency. Players were able to use Webs to purchase accessories, buildables, potions, and other items. Webs could also be used to speed up the player's own Paranormal Egg spawn time.

Players were able to obtain Webs by Trick-or-Treating, finishing Time Races, killing Spider mobs, fishing, and by spinning the Halloween Wheel.

Additionally, Webs could also be obtained by speaking to Pooki for the first time.

Minigames[]

Two minigames were able to be played at the Spooky Town: Time Races and Trick-or-Treating.

Time Race (Halloween Event 2022) — Time Race

The Time Race minigame was a solo minigame, and it could be located on top of a ledge within the open castle.

Similar to the 2021 Halloween Event's Time Race minigame, the player was tasked to fly through all of the rings before 1 minute and 30 seconds was up.

There was a 30-second intermission.

Trick-or-Treating (Halloween Event 2022) — Trick-or-Treating houses

Trick-or-Treating allowed players to trick-or-treat at houses and with other players to gain Webs.

In order to Trick-or-Treat at a house, the player must've played a memory game and successfully matched 3-5 pairs of cards to gain Webs. To Trick-or-Treat with other players, the player could click on another player and click on the Trick-or-Treat icon that came up.

Trick-or-Treating with players had a 5-minute cooldown before either player could Trick-or-Treat each other again. Other players could still be Trick-or-Treated, and doing so would create a separate cooldown.

Event Dragons[]

The 2022 Halloween Event released the Paranox, the 2022 Halloween dragon. The Dysuva, Paukiki, Scrawei, and the Skelltor also made a reappearance.

Dysuva[]

The Dysuva has a bat-like appearance, bearing three pairs of wings, a long, bare tail, and a pair of strong legs. It has a robust build with fur covering its neck, and two pairs of fangs on its face, as well as long ears and a permanent black streak around its eyes, ears, and nose.

The Dysuva has a 5% chance of hatching from the Paranormal Egg.

Paranox[]

The Paranox has a lithe body with armor present on its neck, back, arms, and on the end of its tail. Its head features two pairs of horns, a half-skeletal face, and a singular eye atop its head. Bone-like protrusions sprout out from its neck, body, and tail-tip. It also boasts a long chain that is banded to its left arm.

The Paranox has a 1% chance of hatching from the Paranormal Egg.

Paukiki[]

The Paukiki has a bipedal build that is attached with four arms, two legs, and a pair of large wings. Its head resembles a pumpkin, and long branch-like structures protrude from its head, shoulders, and tail. Spines also line the top of its neck, all of its limbs, and the base of its tail. In addition, small spots cover part of its head, shoulders, legs, and tail.

The Paukiki has a 38% chance of hatching from the Paranormal Egg.

Scrawei[]

The Scrawei resembles a scarecrow with its body seemingly covered in sewn patches of cloth. Stitches lines the fabric intersections and straw can be seen bursting from its body and covering its neck. Its wooden tail resembles a broomstick, and it also bears wooden feet, wings, horns, spikes, and button eyes. It wears a large hat atop its head.

The Scrawei has a 2% chance of hatching from the Paranormal Egg.

Skelltor[]

The Skelltor is a large, quadrupedal dragon with a skeletal appearance. Its body is built up of bones with magic flowing in-between its ribs and skull. Patterns line its lower jaw, joints, sternum, and pelvis, and it bears a pair of large horns on its head and spikes along its neck, back, and tail. It has massive wings connected by membrane.

The Skelltor has a 54% chance of hatching from the Paranormal Egg.

Eggs[]

The Paranormal Egg was the 2022 Halloween Event's egg. It was unable to be bought, and could only be obtained by spawning in the world. Once it spawned in, the Spooky Town's sky would turn green, and a message would be displayed saying it spawned somewhere in the world. The Paranormal Egg spawned every ~10 minutes.

Every 30 minutes, however, the player's own individual Paranormal Egg would spawn in. This egg was unable to be collected from other players and had a green outline. This process could be shortened by 5 minutes by spending 150 Webs.

The Paranormal Egg resembled the Spooky Egg and Haunted Eggs of past Halloween events, although it was colored green and was covered by chains. It spawned on top of a grave.

The Paranormal Egg is able to hatch the Dysuva, Paranox, Paukiki, Scrawei, and the Skelltor.

Trivia[]

The 2022 Halloween Event is currently the only event to have a dragon NPC based off of a dragon not already in-game.
