"Howlers are a common sight in the frigid tundra they call home. Howlers become more active at night due to their incredible night vision and silent flight, which helps them hunt unsuspecting prey. Although their overall stats aren't the strongest, they are great for newer adventures due to their calm and patient personalities."

- The Howler was originally modeled to sit on top of the player's shoulders and act as a turret, and was proposed to be obtained in Grassland.[1] Further debate on whether it would be fully un-rideable, optional to be rideable, or completely rideable went on for some time before it was ultimately decided for it to be rideable like all other dragons.[2][3]
