"Kheperas are fascinating, medium-sized dragons from the desert world. They are often seen making burrows in the soft desert sand, using their large horn as a shovel. Considering Kheperas have armor all along their body, these dragons have moderate defense with pretty decent health. They possess a surprisingly powerful bite, although their breath isn't as strong. Kheperas are usually friendly on first interaction, making them good companions."

- The Khepera's name derives from the ancient Egyptian god Khepri, whose name is sometimes spelt as Khepera.
- The Khepera was likely based off of rhino beetles.
- Before it was officially released, it was known as the Heraxx.
- On September 20th, 2020, it was announced on the Dragon Adventures Discord that the Khepera would receive a remodel, however the development images posted publicly were not shown to be completed,[1] and the model done by Erythia appeared to have been scrapped after some time.
- On September 26th, 2021, Joylessly let users guess which dragon would be the first for JaxonBirb to model, including the Khepera remodel, Geliklen, and a Rocirus redesign. The Geliklen was later revealed to be the first to be modeled, and the Khepera was allowed to be voted on by users to be next to be modeled or not.[2] A majority of users upvoted "yes" and it was modeled later on, although the model was not shown to be in a finished state and was not teased or posted about since October 2nd, 2021.
- On July 31st, 2023, the Khepera was included in the Dragon Adventures Redesign Poll which was hosted on Discord. It did not win the poll, however on March 16th, 2024, the Khepera was included in both the remodel and reanimation categories in the poll "Updated Models and Animations for Dragon Adventures".[3] The poll was opened again on August 6th, 2024, where the Khepera was allowed to be voted on in both aforementioned categories. However, if it had won in a redesign poll, it would have received a new remodel design.
- The Khepera, like all other currently released world dragons, received hatch presets on February 9th, 2024.[4]
- Out of all of the world dragons that gained hatch presets, the Khepera received the fewest with only three.
