Trading is a feature that allows one player to exchange items to another player. Players can trade dragons, eggs, potions, and items such as food, resources, healing items, and accessories.

Mechanics[]

Trade Request Example

Trade request

In order for a player to trade with another user, they must first send a trade request to another player from the Social tab or interact with their avatar directly. If the other player accepts, a menu will be brought up showing a separated grid between both users containing nine tiles each, with "Cancel" and "Accept" options below.

Trade requests may be allowed to all players, only to the player's friends, or no one. These toggles may be found under settings in the Menu under "Trade Requests."

Trading[]

The player can add items to their trade via the plus icon. When selected, "Trade Items" and "Trade Dragons" will be displayed. If the player selects "Trade Items", their inventory will show up and they will be able to select any applicable item and give it a set amount. If the player selects "Trade Dragons", their Lair will show up and the player will be able to select any non-favorited dragon(s). A player may trade up to nine distinct items and/or dragons. Any dragon put in the trade will display its species name and may be inspected to display any of its information by clicking on it.

Once an item or dragon is added, it cannot be removed from the trade unless the player cancels the trade. Note that items that are not found in the player's inventory or Lair cannot be traded, including currencies such as coins, base buildings or plot themes, UGC accessories, or Premium Shop content like gamepasses or bundles.

Accepting[]

When the player is content with what is in their trade, they may click "Accept." A green checkmark icon will appear over their side of the trade. To cancel the confirmation, the player may click the Accept option once more. Both players may also click "Cancel" to end the trade entirely at any time.

The trade will only be confirmed for both parties when both players accept. During this 10-second timeframe, either player may click "Accept" again to cancel their confirmation or decline the trade. Each player will be given the other player's item(s) that were put in the trade, if any, after the trade successfully goes through.

If a player receives too many of an item that goes past their dragon or inventory limit, the trade will be declined and both users will be refunded whatever items they put in the trade.

Trivia[]

  • Trading was added alongside Co-Hatching on September 29th, 2019, at roughly 8:00 PM EST.
    • Both features were put on a poll hosted on August 24th, 2019, alongside the options' "parties", "guilds", "more potions", and "more worlds". Co-Hatching came out with the most votes with trading not far behind.[1]
