Winter Event 2022

Note: The Winter Event 2022 has ended.

The Winter Event of 2022 was an event that began December 16th, 2022, at 5PM EST, and ended January 9th, 2023.

On November 30th, 2022, the Advent Tree was set up in the center of Origins alongside the mission counter, event countdown, and a snowman NPC. Large snowflakes and presents were placed around it, and the world's atmosphere became cloudier and whiter.

Event[]

The 2022 Winter Event released the Avefir during Week One and it rereleased the Skriffei and Tosknir. Additionally, Winter Wonderland became accessible along with all of its exclusive content. The Nadaler released in Part Two of the event, and not long after the Yulereinn was rereleased.

The Advent Tree also made a reappearance, and Sylvester Snowman was added as a tutorial instructor NPC.

Release[]

On December 1st, 2022, the Advent Calendar began and the Eisendrache released as the Season 15 dragon.

Week One[]

Week One of the event released December 16th, 2022, at 5PM EST. Winter Wonderland became accessible and the Avefir released. The Skriffei and Tosknir were also reintroduced.

Mid-Week Mini Update[]

On December 21st, 2022, a few additional accessories, buildables, and the Santa's Backpack cosmetic were introduced to the event's shops.

Week Two[]

Week Two of the event released December 23rd, 2022. It introduced the Nadaler into the Winter Egg 2022.

On December 28th, 2022, the Yulereinn was introduced into the Winter Egg 2022.

World[]

Winter Wonderland (Winter Event 2022) — Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland acted as the 2022 Winter Event world. Winter Wonderland was expansive in size, with large snowy mountains surrounding it. Snowy and regular pine trees decked the world's surface alongside a single large frozen lake with a festive pole at its center. Chilled breezes could be seen throughout the world as well. Several icy caves could also be found in the world.

In front of the World Teleporter lied a large Christmas tree, the event's shops and all of its minigames, the Winter 2022 Wheel, the Speedy Incubators, and several houses.

Badge & Title[]

If the player entered Winter Wonderland they would be rewarded with the Snow Sentinel title and the Christmas 2022 badge.

Accessory Store & Event Shop[]

The two shops in Winter Wonderland featured winter-and-Christmas-themed accessories, base buildables, potions, and other items.

Both stores could be located near the World Teleporter.

Accessory Store (Winter 2022) — Accessory Store

The Acessory Store was a tall stone building with a sloped blue roof. Its tower building was grey, while the actual building was colored green. It had blue strands of lights decked on the front of it, alongside several barrels, bags, and presents that sat below it.

It was located to the left of the World Teleporter and had a blue aura.

Event Shop (Winter Event 2022) — Event Shop

The Event Shop was a tall stone building with a sloped yellow roof. Its tower building was darker in color, while the main building was colored light yellow. It had a red tapestry and decorative wreaths. It also displayed several of the event's potions in a wagon and a few barrels.

It was located to the right of the Accessory Store and had a yellow aura.

Advent Tree[]

The Advent Tree was a giant Christmas tree located in the center of Origins, with several presents and snowflake decals decked below it. There were 24 capsules.

The player must've completed two missions in order to open one capsule. Once completed, the player must've talked to the snowman NPC beneath the tree to claim their reward.

Capsules that had been opened would appear clouded. If the player missed a day, they would have missed the reward as well.

If the player was successful in claiming all twenty-four prizes, they would be rewarded with the Ornament Overlord title.

Exclusive Features[]

Sylvester Snowman[]

Sylvester Snowman was an NPC who was originally teased alongside the Winter Egg 2022.

Upon entering Winter Wonderland, players were directed to him in order to understand the basics of the event.

"Hello, I'm Sylvester the Snowman. Welcome to Winter Wonderland!"
"In our little village, you can play minigames and earn Snowflakes to spend in the Accessory & Event shops."
"Beyond the village is the wilderness. When Winter Eggs spawn, they will appear in the wilds!"
"You can also use Speedy Incubators here to hatch your eggs, and spin the Winter Prize Wheel."
"Try playing some minigames!"

Snowflakes[]

Snowflakes acted as the 2022 Winter Event's currency.

They were able to be obtained by completing minigames.

Players were able to use Snowflakes to purchase event items and accessories, as well as to speed up of the spawn time of 2022 Winter Eggs.

Additionally, they could also be obtained by speaking to Sylvester Snowman for the first time.

Speedy Incubators[]

The Speedy Incubators were able to hatch eggs 25% faster and were located to the right of the World Teleporter.

The structure consisted of an open stone clearing with six giant stove incubators. A large sign decked with holly at its sides displayed "Speedy Incubators" behind the structure.

Incubators could be purchased with Snowflakes, with six in total.

Each incubator costed 300 Snowflakes.

Winter Wheel[]

The Winter Wheel acted as Winter Wonderland's Spinner Wheel. It was located behind the countdown Christmas tree.

It could be spun by spending 50 Snowflakes and could be re-spun every 24 hours.

Minigames[]

There were four minigames that are able to be played.

Cold War was a solo minigame.

The minigame tasked the player to find a disguised penguin hidden somewhere in Winter Wonderland. The player had 30 minutes to find the penguin.

The minigame had a 30-minute cooldown.

Cold War Locations[]

Below is a list of possible locations for the Penguin Spies to appear:

To the right of Sylvester Snowman are six incubators. There may be a penguin under the sign for them.
Within the village and behind the Cyan-colored chimney are two barrels. The penguin may appear in one of them.
Towards the right of the Cold War NPC is the Nutcracker minigame. A penguin may be found on the left wall.

Behind the village is a path. After reaching the end of the path is an archway that can be found on the right. Above the arch may be a penguin.
Nearby a white and red striped pole, far north of the wilderness.
Near the pole are two houses. The penguin may appear to the right of them within a barrel.
Next to the wooden bridge are two mountains. The tallest mountain has an igloo, presents, a fishing rod, and possibly a penguin found stargazing, atop it.
Nearby the wooden bridge is a blizzard zone. A penguin may reside under one of the trees.

After going past the arch behind the village, a cave can be found to the left. Upon entering, there will be a gap in the floor, where another penguin can be found. This cave can also be accessed nearby the pole; if the player faces the pole, with the village behind them, flying left will take them to the other entrance.
Going underneath the wooden bridge will be a cave. A penguin can be found at the entrance.
Following the flow of the blizzard will lead to a wall where a cave can be found. Upon entering a penguin can be found.
Going deeper into the blizzard cave is a lush area with mushrooms. It may contain a penguin on the right hidden in bushes.
Going further into the cave beyond the blizzard will lead to a zone with a campfire, where a seemingly sunburnt penguin may be found.

Gingerbread Baker (Winter Event 2022) — Gingerbread Baker

Gingerbread Baker was a solo minigame.

The Gingerbread Baker minigame required the player to decorate 30 cookies with any of the five toppings that were given:

Green icing
Red icing
Sprinkles
Ears
Eyes

The player was given three chances to decorate all of the cookies. If they messed up three times, the minigame would end. Every order made would make the conveyor belt move faster.

The amount of Snowflakes awarded depended on how many cookies the player successfully made. 2 Snowflakes were awarded per cookie.

The player was able to win the Winter Egg 2022 or an Event Spin Token, however neither were guaranteed.

The Gingerbread Baker minigame had a one-minute cooldown.

Nutcracker (Winter Event 2022) — Nutcracker

Nutcracker was a co-op minigame.

Any participating players would be teleported to a special rink near the back of the map. Players were required to bonk as many nutcrackers as they could in two minutes.

The nutcrackers would pop out of unboxed blue presents and could be bonked by using a dragon's elemental breath. After the first two guide rounds, impostor penguins would begin to pop up. Bonking them would subtract five seconds from the remaining time that was left.

The Nutcracker minigame had a one-minute cooldown.

Santa's Helper (Winter Event 2022) — Santa's Helper

Santa's Helper was a co-op minigame.

In the Santa's Helper minigame, players were tasked to deliver presents to any of the nine houses, which were colored red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, pink, and brown.

Presents could be picked up by dragons in any of the three gift bags near the Santa's Helper building.

The amount of presents needed to be delivered depended on how many players participated.

Players were given five minutes to deliver all of the presents.

Event Dragons[]

Two new event dragons were released in the 2022 Winter Event alongside three returning event dragons.

Event[]

Avefir[]

The Avefir is a small quadrupedal dragon that bears an avian appearance with pinecone-like features. It has a rather robust build in the front and has a long pinecone-like tail, a pair of feathered and webbed wings and hip fins, and an armored underside. It has slender legs with leaf-like protrusions sprouting out from the tops of them.

The Avefir was released during part one of the event on December 16th, 2022. It can be hatched from the Winter Egg 2022.

Nadaler[]

The Nadaler is a massive, heavily furred lung dragon. It has an elongated body and hoof-like feet, as well as two pairs of grand horns that rest atop its head. It has a large beard of fur, and bears fur along the underside of its neck and belly, shoulders, feet, hips, and tail. It has tusk-like features that protrude from its lower jaw and a short nose horn.

The Nadaler was released during week two of the event on December 23rd, 2022. It can be hatched from the Winter Egg 2022.

Skriffei[]

The Skriffei has a lithe appearance based on a snowflake, with a slender body, a long tail, and snowflake-like wings. Spine protrusions line its tail tip, neck, arms, legs, back, and face. Its small head is also adorned by two slender horns. Embedded diamond-shaped pendants also line the sides of its neck, hips, and the sides of its tail.

The Skriffei was re-released on December 16th, 2022. It can be hatched from the Winter Egg 2022.

Tosknir[]

The Tosknir is coated in ice armor throughout its body. It has a wyvern form, with large icy wings and sturdy legs. Its tail is rugged and coated in plating, just like its neck. It carries two massive tusks on its jaws and small crests on the top of its head. Icy fumes leak from the armor on its neck and tail as well.

The Tosknir was re-released during the first week of the event on December 16th, 2022. It could be hatched from the Winter Egg 2022 (with a hatchable cap of one per account) or won from the Winter Wheel.

Yulereinn[]

The Yulereinn heavily resembles a reindeer. It bears two massive antlers, a pair of large, jagged wings, and a long furry tail. Its neck is heavily coated in fur, and it is equipped with four slim hoof-like legs and hoof-like claws on its wings. At the end of its furred tail are antler-like protrusions. Permanent-colored gold streaks line its antlers, nose, wing claws, and the ends of its neck, foreleg, and tail fur.

The Yulereinn was re-released on December 28th, 2022. It can be hatched from the Winter Egg 2022.

Non-Event[]

Howler[]

The Howler has an upright owl-like build. Its chest and face are covered in feathers, and it bears a long feathered and fanned tail. It has two short bird-like legs, each sporting claw. It also has large, feathered wings

The Howler was introduced during Week One of the event and can be hatched from the Winter Egg 2022.

Eggs[]

The Winter Egg 2022 was a rare egg that could be obtained naturally in Winter Wonderland, and, more rarely, through minigames and the Winter Wheel.

If it spawned, an announcement would be made, the music would be sped up, and the sky would turn purple.

Winter Egg 2022's spawned in large wreath-like nests on the outskirts of the central village. Public eggs seemed to spawn around every 20-30 minutes.

Every 35 minutes, however, the player's own individual Winter Egg 2022 would spawn in. This egg was unable to be collected from other players and had a blue outline. This process could be shortened by 5 minutes for 100 Snowflakes.

If the egg was found, an announcement would be made stating a player had found it, and the world would return back to normal.

WinterNestonNest — A private nest atop a public nest

It was also possible for the server nest and private nest to appear on-top of each other.

The Winter Egg 2022 was colored white which faded into a light blue. It had faded light brown scales, and it had a bright red nose and a reindeer antler headband on its upper half.

Locations[]

Below is a list of the known possible locations for the Winter Egg 2022 to appear.

At the back of the village and behind the house with the Brown chimney is a path. Following it will lead to an egg location.
Within the middle of the wilderness is a wooden bridge, where a blank space can be found next to it. A nest may appear here.
After flying across the bridge from the direction of the village, a ledge can be found. A nest may be found on it.
Nearby the bridge is an area with what appears to be a blizzard blaring through. The nest may be found within this area.
Following the direction of the blizzard, a small ledge can be found on the right. A nest may appear here.
Nearby the pole with wind particles around it are two houses. Between them may be a nest.

Past the pole and towards the top-right is a small open space surrounded by trees. A nest may be found within.
