The Winter Event of 2024 was an event that began December 13th, 2024, at 4:00 PM EST, and ended January 10th, 2025, at 4:00 PM EST.[1]

Advent Tree

In-game countdown
On November 29th, at 9:34 PM EST, present and snowflake decals were added in the center of Origins and the advent calendar was added; however, it did not properly start until December 1st, at 11:00 AM EST. Players were required to complete any three missions per day to be rewarded an item on the Christmas tree.
Unlike previous advent calendars, the player was able to do missions "chronologically back-to-back" so they could not miss a reward if they did not show up for the day it was for.[2] The player must have talked to the snowman NPC to claim their first reward before they could complete additional missions for their next reward. There was a total of 24 rewards.
On December 6th, a 7-day countdown portal for the event was put in front of the advent Christmas tree, and Winter Wonderland was put in the World Teleporter.

World[]

Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland acted as the Winter Event 2024 world. Winter Wonderland was expansive in size, with large snowy mountains surrounding it. Snowy and regular pine trees decked the world's surface alongside a single large frozen lake with a festive pole at its center. Chilled breezes and rock outcrops could also be seen in the wilderness region, and two icy caves could be located near the borders of the map.

Winter Spotlight Elite Token door
In front of the World Teleporter laid a large Christmas tree, the event's shops and all of its minigames, the Winter Wheel, the Speedy Incubators, and several houses. Atop one of the mountains laid the Penguin Cannon feature, and nearby it was a large billboard reading "Welcome to Winter Wonderland." Past the Santa's Helper houses lays a large gate with four keyholes, and inside it The Ancient Tosknir shrine.
In addition of the Roblox Winter Spotlight event, the gate became able to be opened, its locks gained visuals, and the stone pedestal now houses the Elite Token badge, with a stone Ancient Tosknir head looming over it, foreshadowing the aforementioned secret "redesign" planned to release December 24th.

Sylvester Snowman[]

Sylvester Snowman
Sylvester Snowman acted as the tutorial instructor NPC for Winter Wonderland.
Upon entering Winter Wonderland, players would be directed to him in order to understand the basics of the event.
- "Welcome to the Winter Wonderland, Adventurer!"
- "We have lots of minigames for you to complete to earn Snowflakes here!"
- "You can also use the Incubators here to hatch your eggs."
- "Good luck adventurer! Be on the look out for the new Winter Dragons this year!"
Sylvester Snowman would then give the player 25 Snowflakes for speaking to him for the first time, and a Winter Event tips interface would show up on the player's screen afterwards. He would repeat his dialogue again and the tips interface each time he was interacted with.
Leaderboard[]
The Leaderboard was a feature accessible from the Winter Event icon. Like the Halloween Event 2024 leaderboard, it listed the top 50 players who had collected the most event eggs.
Prizes included the Super Champion title for the player in first place, the Winter Champion title for players in places 1-10, and a Vyreas with the Northern Lights cosmetic trait for all of the top 50 players.
Missions[]
Missions were a feature accessible from the right side of the player's screen. The Winter Wonderland mission was unlimited and allowed players to complete a set of 4 objectives for a reward of 400 Snowflakes. Once completed, the mission would reset and be able to be completed again.
The Roblox Winter Spotlight event missions rewarded the Regular Token badge and Elite Token badge in their respective missions. The Elite Token's mission would be locked until the player completes the Regular Token's missions. Completing either mission would award the player the Winter Spotlight: Main Token badge and Winter Spotlight: Elite Token badge, respectively during the Roblox event. On January 2nd, the rewards were changed to become 200 and 350 Snowflakes, respectively.

Penguin Cannon[]

Penguin Cannon

Penguin Cannon interface
The Penguin Cannon was used to spawn event eggs for a price of Snowflakes. The cannon was located atop a wooden platform on a tall mountain near the main event area. The cannon would launch penguins at random occasionally, however these penguins would not hold eggs.
When an egg was purchased, the cannon would pivot to a specific direction and launch a penguin holding the player's own event egg. The egg could be instantly collected from the penguin holding it. The spawned eggs could not be stolen from by other players and may have changed locations if the player left the game.

The Snowglobe (or Snow Globe) was a feature that filled up with Snowflakes each time the player earned them from a minigame. It could store up to 250 Snowflakes and could be opened once the player completed the Gingerbread Baker, Nutcracker, Santa's Helper, and Snowman Showdown minigames at least once. Once claimed, it would immediately start filling up again, and the minigames would need to be redone once more.
The Snowglobe icon was located on the lower right side of the screen on PC and below the Snowflakes currency on mobile.
Presents[]

Present deposit
Large piles of presents could be located around the world and could be harvested like regular world deposits.
Present piles had 250 health and could be harvested with a dragon's elemental breath or bite attack. Multiple players could work together to harvest the same deposit. A dragon could deal 25 damage to a node at a time.

The Ancient Tosknir shrine[]

The Ancient Tosknir shrine
The Ancient Tosknir shrine made a proper debut in Week Three of the event and was located within the Elite Token room. The player must have completed both Roblox Winter Spotlight token missions and the Ancient Tosknir mission to be able to use the shrine.
A player could transform their Tosknir into an Ancient Tosknir by paying 1,000 Snowflakes. Note that the player must have been riding the Tosknir they wished to transform, and that the transformation process was irreversible.
Ice Fishing[]

Two ice fishing locations, one boosted and the other normal
Ice Fishing could be initiated over large pools of water most often found atop frozen lakes or ponds. There were three possible ice fishing locations the player could fish at per 8-minute rotation. There were three locations at the large frozen lake in the wilderness, one on either side of the river near the wooden bridge, one at the pond near spawn, one at the small lake in the frozen cave at the rear of the world, and a spot in the cave near the village. An announcement was made in chat each time the locations moved.
One of the three locations would always be "boosted." Boosted fishing spots offered rarer catchable items and had a purple aura with small purple fish jumping up from them. The boost would go away if the player successfully fished at it and would not reappear until the fishing zones moved. When a player joined a server, they would not be able to find a boosted zone until the zones moved in that server. The Winter Egg 2024 could be fished at boosted and non-boosted locations.

They were colored green with a yellow frame and red bow, had 45 health, and were guaranteed to drop 15-25 Snowflakes and/or another separate quantity of Snowflakes or a Winter Egg 2024 or Winter Spin Token.
Known Locations[]
Minigames[]
A total of five minigames were featured during the event.
If the player completed 30 minigames, they would be rewarded with the Winter Wonderdragon title.

Cold War
Cold War was a solo minigame. It had a 10-minute cooldown and could be reset every 10 minutes.
The minigame tasked the player to find a disguised penguin hidden somewhere in Winter Wonderland. The player had an unlimited amount of time to find the penguin and could pin the mission to their taskbar.

Cold War Locations[]
Below is a list of possible locations for the Penguin spies to appear:

Gingerbread Baker

Gingerbread Baker minigame
Gingerbread Baker was a solo minigame with a 5-second intermission and a 5-second cooldown.
The Gingerbread Baker minigame required the player to decorate 30 cookies with any of the five toppings that were given:
- Green icing
- Red icing
- Sprinkles
- Tail sprinkles
- Eyes
The player was given three "lives" to decorate all of the cookies. Each time an incorrect topping was picked, a life would be depleted, and the player would have to decorate a new cookie. If they messed up three times, the minigame Would end. Every correct order made would make the conveyor belt move faster.
The number of Snowflakes awarded depended on how many cookies the player successfully made. If all 30 cookies were made, the player would be rewarded 45 Snowflakes.
The player was able to win the Winter Egg 2024 or an Event Spin Token, however neither were guaranteed.

Nutcracker

Nutcracker arena
Nutcracker was a co-op minigame with a 30-second intermission and a 1-minute cooldown.
Any participating players would be teleported to a special rink near the back of the world. Players were required to bonk as many nutcrackers as they could in two minutes.
The nutcrackers would pop out of unboxed blue presents and could be bonked by using a dragon's elemental breath or bite attack. After the first two guide rounds, impostor nutcracker penguins would begin to pop up. Bonking a penguin would subtract five seconds from the remaining time that was left. If no nutcrackers were bonked, then any participating players would be rewarded nothing.

Event Dragons[]
The Winter Event 2024 released three new event dragons and returned seven event dragons:
Allpehourn[]

"The Allpehourn, or the abominable dragon as referred, are large frigid dragons that hibernate in the deep caves of the Winter Wonderland until the winter season. These highly territorial dragons come out to clash against one another in hopes of claiming as much grounds of the winter world as possible for their groups and nests. In packs, these dragons form close bonds with each other and follow a pack leader. They enjoy blowing now over others and playing by burling themselves into each other to strengthen their friendships."
The Allpehourn was released in Week One of the event.
Ancient Tosknir[]

"The Ancient Tosknir is a legendary evolution of the original Tosknir, embodying the harsh, unyielding power of winter. Its jagged, ice-armored body radiates an icy mist, while its glacier-blue eyes strike fear into those who dare challenge it. Once a guardian of the Tundra world, it now rules the Winter world, protecting its frozen domain with unmatched vigilance. While slow-moving, its immense defense and bone-crushing bites make it a formidable opponent in battle.
Despite its intimidating demeanor, the Ancient Tosknir shares a protective nature, fiercely defending its home and those it trusts. Its roar echoes like an avalanche, warning threats to keep their distance. To tame this dragon is to harness the relentless might of winter itself."
The Ancient Tosknir was released on December 24th, in Week Two of the event.
Avefir[]

"Intelligent and social dragons, Avefirs are an uncommon sight within the Winter Wonderland. These omnivorous, tree dwelling dragons are found in closely bonded social groups. While not the fastest or the sturdiest of dragons, Avefirs find strength in unity, and work together to take down threats with coordinated attacks. Avefirs have excellent memory. If an avefir is injured or killed in battle, their group will usually send out a party, who's purpose is to track down and bring torment to the specific dragon... or person responsible. The avefir's social behavior is also present in tamed individuals, they are described as friendly and extremely loyal to their trainers. A happy Avefir often will go out of its way to bring their trainers gifts. Usually in the form of shiny trinkets. It is common tradition in Dragonaria to hang these gifts as Christmas ornaments."
The Avefir was released in Week One of the event.
Firifeller[]

"Firifellers tower over most dragons, but despite this, they are exceedingly elusive and were once treated as legends. These rumors were dispelled shortly after scientific documentation of the species was released. Firifellers live high in the mountains, being able to survive in the harshest of conditions, and in rare cases, they offer shelter under their wings for lost adventures."
The Firifeller was released in Week One of the event.
Hielochiim[]

"Hielochiims are speedy dragons that come out during winter, flying in large flocks at altitudes that render them nearly invisible. Though hard to find, these dragons are fairly numerous and relatively easy to tame after they're tracked down. They greatly value their freedom and will often fly away for hours or days at a time, though they always come back, and almost always bearing a present for their tamer. Despite these dragons hardly ever roaring, they are very loud due to the bells that adorn their bodies, which they often shake in displays to impress others or in an attempt to scare off potential threats. They are incredibly playful and never seem to run out of energy!"
The Hielochiim was released in Week One of the event.
Nadaler[]

"The most lovable of giants, Nadalers are summoned into view with the scent of hot cocoa and festivity in Winter. These fluffy dragons are companions who will go to great lengths to ensure their human's physical safety as well as emotional support. Whilst their size and thick undercoat of fur makes them slow, they are not something to ignore when defending themselves. Nadalers are said to be created out of kindness, having been first discovered centuries ago. They grant wishes to young, well behaved dragons, and are firm pacifists unless it's the worst case scenario. Remember to be kind to each other to grant the Nadaler's blessing!"
The Nadaler was released in Week One of the event.
Skriffei[]

"The Skriffei is a fairly sized creature resembling the likeness of snowflakes. They inhabit the snow coated hills of the Winter Island, appearing to Adventurers during the holiday season. While they are not plentiful in number, these dragons can be tamed with enough determination and persistence. Adventurers far and wide are drawn to them for their calm temperament, gorgeous colors, and their unique patterns. Additionally, they are a peaceful species, preferring polite interactions over combat due to their fragile nature and slower speeds. However, the Skriffei is an extremely loyal companion and will defend its owner with its fierce bite."
The Skriffei was released in Week One of the event.
Tosknir[]

"The Tosknir is more of a docile, icicle-like legendary dragon. Its body has layers of ice pieces, where mist can be seen from the head all the way to the tail. It used to inhabit the Tundra world, but it migrated to the Winter world, alongside other cold-loving dragons. With its low health and speed, it can be an easy target for faster dragons. It however, has good defense and it bites hard, so be careful when you mingle alongside Tosknirs. Its roar is more like an alert call, letting other dragons know there might be danger, or to warn away a threat."
The Tosknir was released in Week One of the event.
Vyreas[]

"Vyreas is a mystical and not well understood species of dragon that lives high up in mountainous areas for most of the year. They're known as harbingers of winter, since they migrate to lower regions when the cold approaches. Other parts of their lifestyle, like their hunting or courting behavior, still remains a mystery.
There are many tales of Vyreases leading people to safety during dire situations, be it when they're stuck in a blizzard or are lost in the wilderness. Due to this, they're seen as good fortune to anyone who spots them and are often viewed as spirit guides. Sometimes these dragons become bonded to the people they save and decide to befriend them, however when the weather starts to warm up, they return to the mountains, only coming back to their trainer next winter, which only adds to the difficulty of researching the species."
The Vyreas was released in Week Two of the event.
Yulereinn[]

"Known for their love and gentleness, the Yulereinns are rare to spot in the Winter Wonderland, hiding in plain sight, camouflaged within the snowy background. Because of this, they can be difficult to find and tame; but once their trust is earned, they make the perfect companion for the winter, with their charming and endearing personality. Some of the most lovable and caring dragons, they are also known to be comically unaware of their large size in relation to their tamers. Though innocent and kind, they will not hesitate to protect if threatened. Their powerful bite becomes a formidable defense in the face of danger. Yulereinns are mostly herbivores, feeding on any available shrubbery or fern."
The Yulereinn was released in Week Two of the event.
Eggs[]
The Winter Egg 2024 could be obtained from the Penguin Cannon for 150 Snowflakes. When an egg was launched, the player would be able to instantly claim it from the penguin holding it. Other players could not steal eggs they had not launched. Launched penguins would display a penguin icon and make quacking sounds. If the player left the server, any launched eggs would remain but may have switched locations.
The Winter Egg 2024 was also obtainable from minigames, ice fishing, and from opening winter chests. It was also a reward in the 18th capsule on the advent Christmas tree.
Dragons hatched from the Winter Egg 2024 have a 5% chance to hatch with the Northern Lights cosmetic trait and/or the Shooting Star element.
