The Xerthos is able to be bred only with other Xerthoses. It has a 6-hour breeding cooldown and a

In addition, the female parent of the offspring will become Soul Bound, and thus be unable to be auctioned, bred, or traded.

- The Xerthos was based off of theropod dinosaurs and jet airplanes. The main influence behind the Xerthos' appearance was the videogame series Portal and the movie WALL-E.
- The Xerthos was originally named the Xerthizes. Its name was changed to make it easier to pronounce.
- The Xerthizes' first design featured no eyes or mouth. This had to be changed in order for it to be considered for the game.
- The Xerthos is the third and final design for the species.
- The Xerthos emits trailing particle effects from its engines.
- The Xerthos and Gundrakken are currently the only Galaxy event dragon to not be robotic versions of existing dragons.
- According to the Gundrakken's Dragonpedia entry however, it was recreated from a "dragon species that had vanished thousands of years ago."
